Healthcare & clinics
AI receptionist for clinics and private practices
Patients ring when it suits them — before opening, at lunch, after hours. Narvin answers every call, books and moves appointments, and handles routine questions so your front desk can focus on the people in front of them.
AI receptionist: Hi, this is River Medical. I’m the practice’s AI assistant. How can I help today?
Caller: I’d like to book an appointment with Dr Chen, please.
AI receptionist: Of course. May I have your full name and date of birth?
Caller: Sarah Mitchell, 15 March 1988.
AI receptionist: Thanks, Sarah. Is this a routine check-up, or something specific?
Caller: Just a check-up. I’m due for my annual.

Set it up responsibly
- Keep the agent to administration and information — it should never give clinical advice or triage emergencies.
- Tell callers to hang up and dial 999 for emergencies in the opening message and the agent’s rules.
- Shorten transcript retention to as little as 7 days and switch audio recording off for sensitive lines.
FAQ
Questions from healthcare & clinics
Can the AI give medical advice?
No, and it should not be set up to. Configure the agent for administration: booking, reminders, directions and general practice information. Anything clinical or urgent should be routed to your team, with a clear instruction to call 999 or NHS 111 where appropriate.
How is patient data protected?
Your workspace is isolated from every other customer, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you control who can see transcripts. You can shorten retention or disable logging for sensitive lines, and a Data Processing Agreement is available on request.
