The same agent that answers your phone can talk to visitors on your website. The widget adds a floating button that opens a chat panel, with a Talk option for browser voice.
1. Create an embed key
- Open your Business profile and find Chat Embed Keys.
- Select Create to generate a key.
- Copy the key and store it securely — it is shown in full only once.
2. Generate the embed code
- Select Generate Embed Code.
- Choose the agent that should answer visitors.
- Choose the embed key, or paste one.
- Choose the mode: Text (chat) or Voice (talk). This sets the launcher label.
- Copy the widget snippet.
3. Add it to your site
Paste the snippet just before the closing </body> tag on every page where the widget should appear. Most website builders and content management systems have a setting for custom code in the footer.
The widget appears as a button in the bottom-right corner. Visitors can open the chat panel, or select Talk to speak to the agent in a new tab.
4. Test
Use Open test link in the embed code window to try the agent before publishing. Then check the live site on desktop and mobile.
Managing keys
- Rotate a key if you think it has been exposed. Existing embed code using the old key stops working, so update your site straight away.
- Revoke a key to switch the widget off on any site that uses it.
Tips
- Give the website agent instructions written for visitors, such as answering product questions and booking demos
- Assign the knowledge-base files visitors most often need: prices, FAQs and policies
- Review website conversations in Logs alongside phone calls
Chat and web voice minutes are billed from your credits in the same way as phone calls.
